I wanted to do a song for my girlfriend at the time, and since we were far away I didn’t have money to send her something, so I decided to do a song for her for Valentine’s Day. I produced the track a couple of months before I wrote it and I said to myself “Hey! I think this is the instrumental I should use for this one.”

I didn’t want the song to be a sad one, I wanted to keep it in a cool hopeful dancing vibe… So after I finished it, I sent it to her and called one of my best friends from home and he bought some flowers for me with a Card that said “Me Rehuso”. I still owe him a big favor for that.

A girl I had to leave behind, because of the inhumane situation its happening in my country. This song inspires all those couples that have to leave someone for a better future, hoping to come back and being able to bring him/her with them.

Venezuela has been a dictatorship for over a decade and there is extreme inflation, poverty, lack of food, etc.

The government is controlling many industry food makers, medicine, there is a lack of food in the supermarkets, meat, oil, toilet paper, deodorant, egg, cheese, milk, etc.

Since April 19th, students and people have been protesting everyday in the streets, where the National Guard and Police, have repressed them with tear gas bombs, water and have killed over 75 people.

Its a terrible moment for our country and we have no help from any OEA members, which has made it hard for our country.

I first produced the track before I came to Miami and 2 months after I arrived, I was bored in my aunts house, so I opened the track again and I just began throwing out melodies that fit the instrumental. Once I landed the melodies, I began the writing process… It took me around an hour and a half to finish the song.

I had doubts on the track and the vocals, while showing it to different producers. Some will say the track needed more bass, others a guitar, and I felt the voice needed to be new. Alongside my team, we recorded the vocals and did a different track.

The result, we only added one second voice on the word (Tiempo), we didn’t like the new beat and the new voice.

Me Rehúso stayed as I recorded on my room, thats why I stated “From My Room To The World” on Baby I Won’t, to inspire kids that do music on their rooms, that music no matter where is done, if people feels it, they will love it.
