Needed to make seven 6" square newel caps (wood was cherry), and thought I'd try this for $20+ dollars, if it didn't work, would toss it and go to a $80 Whiteside bit. It worked absolutely fine. Used the big Triton router in my table with speed about 12,000 RPM, and made three passes to get to the final profile, routing the end grain first to minimize blow-out. End product came really good, only needed to sand lightly to finish, there were no chatter marks on the caps. Longevity of the bit? Dunno. May never use it again, but I'm guessing for non-industrial use would be good. My wife can sell it as a lightly-used router bit at a garage sale when I die...

I bought this set for just under $43 and at this price I like them. I have only used two of these bits on some scrap wood and decided on one for my project. The bits cut well, didn’t leave burn marks when using multiple passes. If you try to take off a lot of wood in one pass you can get burn marks and tear out even with the more expensive bits. I’m happy with the profile that these bits gave me, the tabletop looks great.

This cutter did not come with the peel wax protective coat like most router bits do. Just shipped in a vinyl sleeve with the carbide exposed. However, it has performed wonderfully. I used it to put a profile on Avonite solid surface tops . Solid surface products are hard on cutters. This cutter performed well . Perhaps would not hold an edge as long as a Whiteside or Rockler cutter. But great for limited or one time use.

I am a big fan of these router bits. I have a custom cabinet shop and got tired of spending Lara lints if money for name brand router bits. After trying this brand I was very impressed they work great and there is a very larg selection of profiles available. These have become my got to bits. I work with mainly MDF and soft woods and have seen no noticeable difference between these and the high dollar bits. For the money even working with hardwood I would buy them, just can’t speak for the longevity of them working with only hardwood.

I had to borrow my dad's plunge router because my DeWalt compact router only has a 1/4" collet. This bit cut through solid oak very well! I would suggest that with a large bit such as this one, lower the bit ever so slightly on the first pass and then make your way each pass to your desired depth. Made my counter-tops look fantastic. Very good quality.

After some searching I found this bit to be the exact profile I wanted and it's obviously a good price for a carbide bit.
I'm not sure what happened with the other reviewer's bits but I can only comment on mine and it's been great so far. Some of the yellow paint has chipped away but I'd expect that after putting it through 8 linear feet of 1/2" plexiglass. Given the strength of plexiglass I don't expect this (or any) bit to last a very long time but so far I'm absolutely happy with it.
